Gold & 94pts - Wine Showcase Australia
Complex and refined, the wine shows ripe stone fruit, roasted hazelnut, subtle vanilla and oatmeal nuances on the nose. The palate displays elegance and fine flow, splendidly supported by bright acidity, finishing superbly long and engaging. It's expansive and harmonious, making it fabulously appealing. At its best: now to 2033. 94pts Sam Kim
The fruit for this wine has been sourced from a single site in Victoria’s King Valley. Attractively packaged, the wine offers a lovely gleaming pale gold hue. Lifted aromas here, white peaches, orange blossoms, citrus and a flick of cashews, indicating some judicious use of quality oak. Still very young, the wine is seamless, with a seductive texture and excellent length. Good balance. This will drink well over the next five to six years. Lots to like here. 93pts Ken Gargett
Fruit is sourced from a single vineyard at Moyhu by the river. Subtle white florals, Lilies of the Valley, fennel and lemon verbena. Blue stone, running river and green apple curls. A yellow grapefruit citrus with white nectarine, longan fruit and self raising flour. There is an almond milk creaminess with greek yoghurt acidity and a gentle sway the mouthfeel. Oak is restrained instead letting the purity of citrus fruit take centre stage. It's an elegantly styled wine with the pristine feel of the Valley shining through. Delightful. Drink now and will cellar 2-5 years. A wine that would be sublime with a cauliflower cheese bake or equally an almond croissant. 93pts Shanteh Wale
The label says much of what is needed to locate this wine in Victoria’s High Country – in the lower King Valley specifically. From there it’s about bringing to the glass a quite high-powered, richer style of Chardonnay, more in the honeydew melon to pineapple flavour spectrum, with a solid spine and background oak – but not overwhelmed – and an undercurrent of citrus in a tangelo kind of way
rather than yellow or green fruit, balanced cleverly with a light creaminess in the palate, a cute little suggestion of toffee to boot. A fair bit going on within a traditional styling jacket. 92pts Tony Love
