It's elegant and delightfully fragrant on the nose with red cherry, dried herb, game and fine leather aromas, followed by a silky-smooth palate offering juicy fruit flavours with savoury nuances. Beautifully framed by fine, grainy tannins, making it sturdy and attractively dry. At its best: now to 2030. 94pts Sam Kim

Carrying a greater Victoria state denomination tells us this wine was sourced out of multiple GIs, two vineyards in fact in the north-east, the Twins being the Alpine and King Valleys. All the colour and aromatic boxes are ticked here – garnet in the glass and crushed crimson fruit wafting out of it, a little herb garden note adding background earthiness to a fresh swirl of Morello cherry juice as you taste. It’s here a subtle spice comes into play – clove and a faint curry leaf, with a sense of weak bush tea tannins to tie together a moreish finish. 93pts Tony Love
